Practice Makes Perfect

On an overcast Sunday morning, Llandaff North under 11’s paid a visit to St Joe’s. The visitors looked to be making great roads on improvement, with the best forwards game to date.

The game was opened with lock, Rhys going over for his Second try of the season and looking more Confident with each game he plays. Brandon made the conversion look easy, but St Joe’s were not to be put out just yet, coming back to score their only try of the game. This seemed to be the catalyst for the North forwards who stepped up, to put their practice into action. Bringing strength and aggression into the scrummaging and retaining the ball well for the backs to launch several attacks at the St Joe’s defence.

The North put the forwards to good use stepping over the ball, with good clearing out this produced a good platform of play and the tries started coming with Jack Beatty, DT (Call that a Dive ???) ,The Swede (WOW), Dai (Giggles) and for a first try Tom Penman (Kung Pow). The hard work of training was now paying off. Brandon converted the tries and put in a blistering run to add to the score.

Connecting passes and players improved communications gave through to straight running and good scrummaging and saw the team push for a 42-7 victory. This game gave the boys a lot of self belief and laid a solid foundation for future games and preparation for Bournemouth.

The game was summed up by the team Coach Alex “That’s What I Like to See!” (Don’t We ALL)
