Joe Sullivan's Trip to The States

25th August 2005

Only me, well i'm here. First impressions are big,fat and sugar coated. Mike and Linda are safe as 'ouses. I had my first taste of a deer burger last nite for my dinner. Would'nt say im a huge fan but glad i tried it. Its my first training session tonight not to sure what to expect, and then im going out with the lads and the youth team to see some bang. Which by the looks of things cud be a country cand. yeeeee ha. They've got things sorted for me out here. The first game is Saturday, I'm playin golf on sunday, should be a laugh (for them). They plan on takin me to see an NFL game and an NHL game while im here. And I'm going canoeing n'all. Im also goin to New York, Toronto and the falls while I'm here so i'll keep you up to date. Plus I just got myself a digital camera so there should be some pics on there way if i figure out how to work the bloody thing. Thats it for now so i'll be back in touch soon. l8a

Apnin fockers, The Game went well. started off slow but there was only 1 team in it at the end. We were 12-0 down half time and came back to win 29-12. I played 10? Scored 3 tries tho. I found out i'm not a kicker at all. 1 from 4. Get in! They gave the duty to another guy then. Afterwards we went to the falls
which is fookin amazin for all those who hav'nt bin. Goin back there though to do the maiden of the mist. Shud be good. So thats it for now goin golfing 2day, hav'nt ever played so we'll see how it goes. Speak to you soon boyos. Keep it Real, Sullyx

apnin guys,
Having an awsome time out here. Went to see Coldplay!! Fookin unbelievable.They played that song folz. I got goose bumps and everything. Shame I was the only one that knew the words. Lights will guide you
home...................! Boom! What a tune.
I went shoppin with Terrys wife and daughters. Never again. I shopped from 10 til 3 with no breaks. My legs are killing me. The Rugby side of things has slowed down a bit, our next game is next Saturday against a local uni called Geneseo. Shud be a close game apparently.We have a website you can check outthe results and look at some of the pictures its www.geneseerugby.org. Thats about it though for now just thought i'd update y'all. Let me know how we get on up the mumbles lads.

Apnin,
Frenchy tells me you won on Saturday and that Face caught the ball and
managed to score a couple, nice one son. We lost against geneseo on saturday
and I came off after the first half with a possible broken hand not
confirmed yet. I'm going to see a doctor later. It was a good night though
on Saturday. The guys at geneseo had a party wasn't feeling too good after
though, I slept on someones bathroom floor(not good for the back).
Not much else to report back for now should be more to tell you in a week or

Apnin guys,

First game back yesterday, unfortunatly we lost all down to poor tackling not good at all. Scored a try though. New York was cool, spent 5 days there. Its absoulutly massive some awsome sights to. I went to see everything on the postcards and went to a comedy club called 'the comic strip'. A place where comedians such as Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler made their names. Bit of a nightmare getting back to Batavia though. First of all I ran out of money so I had to sponge off a guy called Rob to get home. Then I missed the train which set me back another 2 hours. Then the train ride lasted an extra hour on top of the 7 because of technical difficulties. So I was shattered when I got back.
Today I went to see Miami Dolphins V Buffalo Bills. I got myself a jersey and a hat to blend in. Awsome atmosphere, bit cold tho. The Bills played a good game and made it exciting to watch. They won 20-14. It was a bit like going to watch a football game with more fighting in the crowds, I was in the posh seats so I didn't have to mix with the common folk even tho it looked like a good laugh. Going either golfing or kickballing tomorrow should be good, then I'm off to watch an ice hockey game with Pat and Mike. So we'll see how the day turns out.

10/10/05 THE JUDGE BACK TO JOE

Hello Josef,

Lyonhead here, well it's now sorted with the losing streak, we turned over
Dowlais away which is the sort of place you would love to play at coz it's
very much like where yo at now.....not. i swear it started snowing amongst
the rainstorms, but we only had a short drive back to the metropolis and it
was back to normal conditions.

A bit of a hiccup against Taffs Well a lot of us didn't perform on the day
and not only let ourselves down but the club and coaches as well, to say
Alan and Andre were cheesed off was an understatement we were really poor.
But a great result away from home this Saturday against Dowlais who I think
really thought were going to turn us over and some boys stood up and got
counted, even Maunders was tackling!!!!!!

A couple of youth boys come into the team as well and a special mention must
go to Tom Isaacs who had a great game at scrum half.Scratchings moved over
to centre as Todger twatted his shoulder against Taffs well.

It sounds as if your having a great time, perhaps you might want to stay??!!
Anyway the way things have turned around you struggle to get into the
side!!!
